Second Grade Persuasive Writing

This morning during my daily walk through I saw the three second grade teachers instructing their students in how to write a persuasive paragraph. In the first two pictures Mrs. Keough-Lane and Ms. Varrell are showing models of good persuasive writing using Explorations in Nonfiction Writing. We adopted this Common Core writing curriculum this year in the primary grades. The third picture is Ms. Anderson reading her students work and reflecting on their writing once the lesson was complete. The students were very engaged in their learning seeing a real life connection and application.
