Bridges Program 2017

Thank you to all the volunteers who came to the first day of the Bridges Program this year!

The Bridges: Growing Older, Growing Together Program (Bridges) is an award wining program that has older adults and elementary students working together.  Also, it allows for both age groups to gain knowledge from each other.  The program also helps us expand our Pine Glen Community through understanding and respect of all members of our community.  The program is built upon educational best practices.

We are very excited to have athletes and sponsors from Pine Glen Elementary School participating in the Special Olympics tomorrow. We honored our athletes today at Pine Glen to cheer them on before the games. Chief Kent and several officers from the Burlington Police Department joined in the celebration. We had 8 police cruisers in front of the building to help with the send off too. Best of luck at the games!

5 Star Generals

Congratulations to all our 5 Star Generals!

The Pine Glen Reading Corps is a program designed to encourage children to read on their own time. Students complete a chart recording their reading and bring it into school. Once students complete enough charts and move through the 14 ranks they become a 5 Star General. Students have their name announced over the intercom system, receive a certificate and a prize. This program has been in place at Pine Glen Elementary School for over 35 years. Thank you very much to the PTO for their continued commitment to funding this great program!
