Exercise for Education Road Race

On Sunday, May 31, 2015, the Burlington Education Foundation (BEF) is holding their 11th Annual “Exercise for Education” 5K Road Race and ½ Mile Family Fun Run at Burlington High School .  Check-in for the event begins at 8:00am with the Family Fun Run beginning at 9:00am, followed by the start of the 5k which begins promptly at 9:30am.

Arts and Technology Night

The following pictures are from the Arts and Technology Night. The orchestra, band and chorus presented a spectacular performance. The chorus had instruments from six different countries accompanying them. One of the instruments featured was a virtual steel drum on an iPad.

The following pictures are from Arts and Technology Night.  Parents could learn right about the artwork from the artist using a QR Code which was posted near the artwork.  A QR Code is a type of special bar-code that can enable a smart device to gain information quickly and easily.

Bridges Program

The following pictures are from the fourth grade classrooms.  All of the fourth grade classrooms are participating in the Bridges: Growing Older, Growing Together Program this year. This is an award winning program that has older adults and elementary students working together and allows for both age groups to gain knowledge from each other. The program also helps us expand our Pine Glen Community through understanding and respect of all members of our community.

Grade 3 Science

Third grade students today dissected owl pellets. The students have learned a great deal about the relationship between an animal and it's habitat.

Burlington Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, Girls Scouts and Venture Scouts are having their ninth annual scouting expo at Rahanis Park, Sunday May 17 from 9-noon…… Come and Join in the Fun!

Scouting age boys and girls (Grades 1-12 for 2015-2016 School Year) are invited to come and check out the scouting programs in Burlington.  Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venture Scouts will demonstrate the spirit of teamwork, character building and camaraderie that scouting is about. Join with the scouts in the “Scouting Challenges”. Leadership from all of the towns scouting units will be on hand to answer any questions about the Scouting Programs in Burlington and accept new registrations. Join us for a morning of “Fun with a Purpose” Sunday May 18 from 9:00 am to noon.

Math Olympiad

On Saturday, 5 Pine Glen students participated in the Middlesex Math Olympiad held at Memorial Elementary School in Burlington.  125 students attempted to answer 10 challenging math questions individually, then worked as a team with members from their school to solve 10 additional math questions in a group.  Mr. Wittbold, Ms. Merlino, Mrs. Visocchi, and their parents are so proud of Ella G., Emma N., Elijah W., Dan N., and Rohan V.

Message from Burlington Mother-to-Mother

Calling all children entering kindergarten at Pine Glen this fall!  Join us on Sunday, May 31st from 4 pm to 5 pm for a laid-back, friendly play-date at the Pine Glen school playground as part of monthly Pre-K socials being organized by Burlington Mother-to-Mother.  The socials are free and open to all incoming kindergarteners.  This is a great way for kids (and parents) to get to know each other and the school environment.
