Veteran's Day Event at Barnes & Noble

Most fifth grade students wrote a letter to a wounded veteran today. Students may read their letters as part of the ceremony on Friday, Nov. 10th at noon at the Burlington Barnes & Noble if they wish. The event will be broadcasted on Facebook Live. Students who want to read their letter may ask for Dominic Copeland at the Barnes and Noble customer service desk.

Playing Ball in Kindergarten

Today during my walkthrough I saw students in Mrs. Hoyt's classroom using a QBall. All three of the kindergarten classrooms have this new technology. A QBall is a soft, throwable, rollable, and wireless microphone ball. The ball automatically senses movement and knows when to go into a power saving standby mode.

The QBall helps build a sense of community during Morning Meeting/Responsive Classroom time. In addition, it helps students hear what their classmates are saying while providing a fun play like atmosphere.
