Parking Lot

As a result of the snow several places have seen a reduction in the amount of parking spaces.  Pine Glen School is not excluded.   When coming to Pine Glen, please try to park in the parking lot in front of the building entrance.   If all the parking spaces are full and the only spots left are in the parking lot in front of the academic wing, please try to park near the basketball hoops closest to Gardner Way.  It is difficult to have recess if a car is parked in the middle of the play area.  Vehicles can not enter the parking lot in front of the academic wing between 11:00 am-1:15 pm as a result of recesses taking place during these times.

Jump Rope

In physical education this month Ms. Govoni's and Mrs. Nicholas' students are participating in the Annual Jump Rope Contest. All the students are wondering if we will have a new record set this year.

Phonics and HD TV

This morning Ms. Mills students were utilizing the HD TV in her room for their phonics listen. In this picture the first graders are practicing the suffix "-ing."

Art

This morning Ms. Fallon had her art students using clay to make cakes. The students worked earnestly taking pride in their work.

Reading Train

Mrs. Potts kindergarten students this morning got on board the reading train. Mrs. Potts has a whistle that sounds like a genuine train whistle blowing in the room. This fun, engaging instruction is a great way to incorporate partner reading. I was so impressed at the great reading and listening displayed by the students.

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center Lecture: The Dilemmas of the Modern Family

Jamestown

Today during morning meeting in Mrs. Fitzpatrick's class, her students took upon character roles of colonists in the Jamestown Colony. This is a great way to ensure students are grasping the content. I was very impressed at the higher order thinking I witnessed in student's questions and answers. I was particularly impressed how students backed up their statements with evidence.

Music

Mrs. Agati joined in playing an instrument with the other fifth grade students while a student conducted the group. The students greatly enjoyed playing a variety of different instruments.
