Community Outreach

Two members of the student council today gave a check to a representative from the Burlington Food Pantry. This money will help feed Burlington families during the months of January and February. The money was raised during the Walkathon in November. Thank you very much to the PTO for all their help with the Walkathon.

Computer Science

Students throughout Pine Glen Elementary School have been coding this week. Every student I have talked to during my walkthroughs has had a smile on his or her face and and told me how much they love coding. It has been wonderful to see the students learning about computer science. We are so fortunate to have 1:1 iPads in our schools that allow us to work on higher level thinking and skills such as coding.

Kindergarten

I greatly enjoyed reading to all the kindergarten students today.

Walkthroughs

Today during my daily walkthroughs I saw students in Mrs. Visocchi's fourth grade classroom doing research to use for their persuasive writing. I also looked at student's personal narratives from Ms. Varrell's second graders that were displayed on the wall. In addition, I enjoyed seeing kindergartners in Mrs. Potts' Room working at center developing their fine motor skills.
